The Johnson/Nechman Family | Houston Family Photographer

I photographed this beautiful family of seven about a year ago. It was my first experience photographing a group of more than three people, but it proved to be a blast! Coordinating six handsome kids and one beautiful Momma to all look at the camera at the same time, not blink, and smile was a fun challenge, and I loved the results :)

Well, friends, the family has grown! Michelle and Scott have united their families as one, making this a family of eleven :)

Scott and Michelle knew each other in high school, but as high school friendships can often times go, you each venture your separate ways to create your adult self, to find a career path, to start a family. Well in this case, life brought these two back together. Michelle shared with me that Scott is the sweetest man she's ever met, and that having Scott and his three girls become a part of her family has been wonderful. The more the merrier :)

Michelle, I am so happy for you, friend! May you and Scott continue to build a lasting love for each other and your now nine children :)

Hayley | Houston Bridal Photographer

Friends, I have been eagerly waiting to post these bridals of the sweet and beautiful Hayley. I had a blast photographing her engagement photos with her now husband(!!), Garman, almost a year ago, and we went out for this stunning bridal shoot this past July. Hayley and Garman were married at the end of September, so I am now safe to post these images from a wonderful bridal portrait session!

Hayley chose the beautiful Rice University campus to take her bridal portraits in memory of her grandfather, who was a Rice University graduate. Hayley's mother brought the Rice University ring worn by her father and a strand of pearls worn by her mother (both pictured above), which I was delighted to include in the shoot :)



Rice University is very interesting architecturally in that on the outskirts of campus you are confronted with grand, cathedral-style buildings, but as you weave your way into campus your eye catches on a modern-style coffee shop and bits of abstract art. I knew that this location would be the perfect setup for a high-fashion photo shoot - and Hayley delivered!

In true Houston summer fashion, the weather was scorching hot by 9:30 a.m. We were all sweating within the first 30 minutes! But no complaints from Hayley! She was such a trooper, delivering stunning poses and radiant smiles through the whole 2-hour shoot! And walked across campus in stilettos! 

Hayley, thank you for an amazing photo shoot. And thank you to Hayley's sister, mom, dad, mother-in-law, and friend who provided dress fluffs, makeup touch-ups, pop-up dressing stations made from bed sheets, and encouragement throughout the shoot :) You guys rock!

The Flowers Family | Austin Family Photographer

I met this beautiful family one August weekend in Austin when Scott and I went up for this guy's 1 year birthday party. My camera in-tow, I snapped a few photographs of most of the family and friends at the party, including the little bitties :) One of which so happened to be this sweet, red-headed baby girl. Well, I posted the pics online and it wasn't a week later that I got a call from Lauren to see if I would photograph her family, and would I mind coming up to Austin to do the shoot. Answer to question #1: photograph that beautiful, red-headed girl and spunky, handsome 4-year-old boy... YES please!! Answer to question #2: drive to Austin and give me an excuse to spend time with Ryder.... Um, again, YES please!!

Flowers family, you guys rocked! I had so much fun doing this photo shoot! I haven't run around on a playground in a long, long time :)

Amy + Levi | Engagement | Central Texas Engagement Photographer

He was just over five pounds when they brought him home. He was born premature, and after a two week stay in the hospital my parents carried him into our quaint house on Wall Street wrapped in a little blanket with a beanie on his tiny head. My brother, Jim, and I peered over the edge of that blanket into the closed eyes of our new baby brother. Levi.

As the oldest sibling, and the only girl, I prayed for the women that my brothers would end up marrying. I prayed that they would be nurturing. That they would be kind. That they would compliment my brothers personalities. That they would love my brothers in a way unique to their needs. Little did I know that this woman for Levi would be the sweet, brown-eyed girl that came into our family's life as an infant. Her mother has worked with my dad in the OB/GYN department at the same hospital for over 20 years, and her family has attended our church for that same amount of time. And though Levi and Amy grew up together, hunting Easter eggs after the Easter Sunday service, running on the same lawn at church potlucks, and staying up through the night at youth group lock-ins, it wasn't until high school that these two planted a tiny seed of innocent interest that has since blossomed into the deepest, genuine love.

I was lucky enough to meet the man of my dreams in high school and committed my life to him in May of 2009. Like me, my brother Jim found his beautiful spouse as a young teenager and married his high school sweetheart in May of 2011. And now Levi, our baby brother, is marrying his high school girl in May of 2013. Aren't we just cute? ;)

Amy and Levi, I love you both to pieces. I consider myself lucky to have two brothers and now two sisters!
