Jenna | Bridal Portraits | Houston Wedding Photographer

I am so thrilled to finally post these photographs of this stunning bride!

I photographed her marriage to her US Navy sweetheart, Scott, last weekend in Belton, TX, and had a blast :)

Jenna, your eyes are killer, girl!

My favorite part of the shoot, by far, was photographing Jenna on top of that hay bale! We had a trip getting her up there (hay bales are WAY taller than they look from the highway!), but she was a trooper and I am IN LOVE with the results!

Jenna, you were a stunning bride that day and even more so on your wedding day :)

Sat Purkh + Abhai Raj | 06.10.2012

I've known Sat Purkh literally since the day I was born. She was (and still is) my spunky, cool Aunt Chiara. My dad's youngest sister who was always more of a play-mate to all of us cousins than the boring adults who were telling us to go to bed. She always used to tease Ashton (my closest cousin) and I that we would most likely get married before her. And although she was right, I'm glad that she waited until she found the perfect man before she decided to marry.

Because she did. She found the perfect man for her - to quote her, "he is the kindest man I know". Abhai Raj (known as "Pete" by his family) could not be more of a compliment to my aunt. Sat Purkh is gregarious and bold. Abhai Raj is calm and wise. She has the most amazing, big laugh. He has a sweet smile and a twinkle in his eye. She loves to sing. He loves to listen. She loves dogs. And he does too. They both have blue eyes that compete with the bluest of Texas summer skies.

(A brief explanation for the turbans: My aunt and the members of her community are practicing Sikhs and Kundalini Yogis. Wearing head coverings is an important part of their lifestyle.)

They met at a yoga workshop in Minneapolis, where my aunt was teaching. And it wasn't until 2 years later that they would begin their conversation up again - and this time to fall in love. Sat Purkh was meditating and heard a voice that told her "your husband is coming". Then in 21 days she received an email from him, the man from the yoga workshop, just checking in to see how she was and to say "hello".

Well, "hello" turned into many more words and exchanges that would lead them to where they are now. Married, and happy :)

Sat Purkh, I am overjoyed for you and your new husband (my new uncle!). May your life be filled with singing, laughter, and love :)

Sat Purkh shared with me that her and Abhai Raj's favorite moment during the ceremony was when he reached over and grabbed her hand :)
Babies in turbans are just too darn cute!

My beautiful grandmother was able to come! She was a trooper in that 15 passenger van with the rest of my family for 12 hours!

Amanda + Josh | 06.02.2012 | Houston Wedding Photographer

Amanda and I suffered through went to graduate school together from August 2009 to May of 2011. It was a grueling 2 years of hard studying and late nights, but we both made it through! I was so honored when Amanda called me and asked me to photograph her wedding. She asked me to do this before I had photographed any weddings, putting her full confidence in me to capture this very momentous day in her life. Amanda, thank you for trusting me to photograph your wedding. The experience was one that I will never forget, and one that will open so many more doors for my business in the future! Thank you :)

Amanda and Josh's mothers were behind the two of them meeting for the first time. They met up for coffee one day and, well, the rest is history :) He makes her laugh. She makes him smile. They were engaged one chilly February day at The Woodlands Waterway, where they shared their first kiss. Ashlyn, Josh's beautiful blonde, curly-haired, blue-eyed, daughter, was happy to welcome Amanda into the family :)

Four months later they were married at the beautiful Heather's Glen in Conroe, TX. Heather's Glen is lush with green and flowers, ivy crawls up the stones, a fountain gently flows in the front, and a glass-walled chapel completes the Secret Garden serenity of this wedding venue.

When I asked Amanda what she would like for me to write about Josh and Ashlyn, she said, "We [Josh & Amanda] complete each other, and Ashlyn makes us a complete family." I think that says it all :)

A huge thank you goes out to my husband and Michael Fowler for being my second and third shooters for the event, and to Amanda's MOH, Katie, for assisting me with little tasks throughout the day! I could not have done this without you!
