Stacy {Houston Maternity Photographer}

It was a chilly Houston morning. And for Houston, "chilly" is anything below 70 degrees so I over-ambitiously decided that I needed to wear 4 layers of tops to keep myself warm forgetting that I often sweat profusely during photo shoots (I blame the squatting and contorting my arms and torso to ensure that I get the right shot for that - maybe a little bit of nerves and excitement mixed in, too) - it's embarrassing. As I was clicking around the Miller Outdoor Theater finding good locations for the photo shoot, I was already regretting the decision to wear two coats. Yes, two. I'm a Texas girl, and I don't like to be cold, okay? ;)

I popped out of the Miller Outdoor Theater to find Stacy and Derek bundled up on the sidewalk looking around to find the girl with the camera :) Immediately they struck me as warm (both literally and personality-wise), sweet, and charming, each wearing a gentle smile on their faces as I approached them and made my introduction :) I knew this was going to be a pleasant session.

Stacy looked stunning in her red sweater! I think I'm going to recommend more momma's to wear red for maternity shoots because the color popped beautifully against the browns and grays of the cool, fall morning. I was just swooning! And that tender gaze to top it off - yes. Perfect :) Stacy, you owned this shoot!

Derek could not have been more amazing, too. Such a positive and encouraging person! He carefully helped his lovely wife up when I had her doing gymnastics going from sit to stand throughout the shoot, and talked so excitedly about his daughter-to-be. Makes me excited to see how Scott will be when our turn finally comes to start a family :)

Stacy and Derek, thank you for a lovely morning. You two are truly so kind and wonderful! It was my pleasure to photograph the two of you, and I look forward to meeting your little one in January! Until then, I will be praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby and momma when she arrives :)

Amber + Drew {Houston Wedding Photographer}

We pulled up to Sojourn church at 2:30 on Saturday, November 10th, for an afternoon turned evening of laughter, smiles, fun, and mostly love :) It was a perfectly warm and partly cloudy day. Not a chance of rain, and evidence of a wedding sprinkled the premises - white paper lanterns hanging from the top of a white tent, lantern hooks dug into the ground in front of the church, a man carrying a large cardboard box full of flowers... a happy scene, indeed!

I walked into the bridal suite to see the dress, shoes, and jewelry already in place before the girls' showed up, giving me the opportunity to snap some detail shots before everyone arrived. The stunning bride and bridesmaids drove up shortly after to put on their dresses and slip on their shoes in time for some fun pre-wedding photos. I just about died when the flower girls walked up wearing to-tos and silver Toms!! My goodness - heaven on earth! So precious :)

The sanctuary was simply but perfectly decorated with Ball jars and tea lights dangling from the tops of white chairs, a ribbon curtain and twinkle lights hung from the ceiling providing a delicate backdrop for the alter. It was all smiles when Amber walked down the aisle to meet Drew, and all smiles from that moment on :)

I have had the tremendous pleasure of photographing several couples and even a little newborn from Sojourn, and I have Amber and I's mutual friend, Chelsea, to thank for introducing me to and welcoming me into such an amazing community of people. Everyone that I have met from Sojourn has been so genuine and real - living out their faith in the biggest ways :)

Amber and Drew, thank you for the honor of photographing such an amazing day in your lives. I pray that now, as a united couple, you will continue to live out the gospel in even bigger ways as one :)

Twinkle lights and to-tos,
